Hello! I'm back! I have continued running and racing, since my last entry in late 2016, but just haven't been blogging about it. Overall, I started this blog at a time of very high intensity (I was training for an Ironman triathlon in 2013), that extended for a few years after that (Ironman 70.3 Augusta and NYC Marathon in 2014, Ironman 70.3 Florida in 2015, for example), and I have been doing this at a much lower intensity since, just having fun out there and finishing races. While I want to keep the fun mindset, I'm ready to ramp up the intensity a little and to use this blog as a tool to do so.
This past Saturday, I did a group run of 11 miles from South Miami at the Footworks Store to Coconut Grove and back, which went well. We started at 5:15 a.m., well before sunrise, but with the sun up on the return leg, it got a little heated. No issues.
Yesterday I did a mountain climber workout on the treadmill: 5 minute warm up, 2 minutes at 2% incline, 2 minutes at 4% etc. up to 10 and back down to 2% did that twice, 5 minute cooldown and stretch.
This morning I climbed 52 flights of stairs and did 10 minutes of tai chi for mobility.
Next race: Key Biscayne Triathlon Trilogy #2 June 21, 2026 (Father's Day!).
